Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what personal data MowBox collects, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

MowBox is a grass cutting service operating across Huddersfield and surrounding HD postcodes. For any data-related queries, contact us at hello@mowbox.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect the following information:

We also collect anonymised usage data through Google Analytics (see section 5).

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

We collect your contact details in order to respond to your enquiry, arrange a free first visit, and provide a quote for our grass cutting service. Our legal basis for processing this data is legitimate interests — specifically, responding to a direct request from you for information about our services.

If you go on to become a customer, we will retain your contact details to manage your recurring service and payment arrangement. At that point our legal basis becomes contract performance.

We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. How long we keep your data

If you submit an enquiry but do not become a customer, we will delete your data within 90 days of the enquiry.

If you become a customer, we retain your contact details for the duration of the service relationship and for up to 2 years afterwards for legitimate business purposes (e.g. responding to queries or disputes).

5. Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are most visited, how long people spend on the site). This data is anonymised and aggregated — we cannot identify you personally from it.

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by managing your cookie preferences in your browser settings.

6. Form data storage

Enquiry form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, our website hosting provider. Netlify is based in the USA and operates under standard contractual clauses for GDPR compliance. We access form submissions via the Netlify dashboard and transfer the relevant information to our own records.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@mowbox.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
